The Hosts
MAXWELL TRUTH is played by comedian "Airborne Eddy" Dobosiewicz. Eddy is a veteran of the stage in Western New York and across the country. "Maxwell" is a veteran of screening Roger Corman flicks and keeping the "Hungry Ear Coffeehouse" alive with great banter.

BIRD THE PAINTER is played by Tony Billoni. Tony is a creative consultant and event coordinator in Western New York. "Bird" can only be described as totally whacked out... and can't get enough of movies like "The Giant Gila Monster!"

THE MYSTERIOUS ZELDA is played by Constance McEwen. Connie is an actress and is active with the Studio Arena Theater in Buffalo, New York. "Zelda" loves hot coffee, great poetry, and foreign films!

JAMES GILLAN
Off Beat Cinema was created and is written by Paragon Advertising executive James Gillan. Mr. Gillan has won many national awards for creative excellence through his advertising agency located in Buffalo, NY. He states, "Off Beat Cinema was created to provide a forum for films that are not regularly shown on television – and in many cases – are not readily available, even on DVD. There is an enormous cache of films out there that an entire generation grew up watching that are otherwise unavailable. We wanted to create a program reminiscent of the hosted late night film shows of the 1960s and 1970s – the kind of show that made you beg your parents to let you stay up late to watch. Where else can you watch ‘Teenagers from Outer Space’ and a week later watch Bergman’s ‘Seventh Seal’ in its original language version?"

JOHN DISCUILLO
Off Beat Cinema is produced by ABC executive John DiScuillo of WKBW-TV in Buffalo. Mr. DiScuillo is responsible for making all the various parts of Off Beat – come together. He comments, "Off Beat Cinema was originally a reaction to the insidious spread of infomercials and the void of late night television. The program really struck a chord with viewers. How many TV shows have you ever watched that inspired you to write a letter? Yet, that’s exactly what our viewers do. We receive many hundreds of pieces of fan mail from across the United States and Canada. We get it all – requests for films, original poetry, philosophic ramblings – and we love it all. I think our fans appreciate the fun of Off Beat Cinema, and the fact that we just don’t take ourselves too seriously."

Sarah JM Kolberg
An award winning independent producer and writer, Ms. Kolberg provides public relations and other support for the show. In addition to handling the show’s fan mail and merchandise, she coordinates guest appearances and co-promotion opportunities. "The fan mail we get is such a barometer of our viewers’ love for the show. We have our regulars who write all the time – suggesting possible movies and commenting on recent selections – and then there’s all the first time writers. It’s always amazing to me that we’ll receive these glowing letters from viewers after only a few weeks in a new market and even sometimes after we’ve left a market, writing to say how much they miss the show – that’s very rewarding."
